I love Asia adventures so much that I recently completed my third time traveling through the continent. This trip I spent time in Thailand, Laos, and Indonesia. There is so much incredible richness to soak in including the wonderful people, the incredible food, the culture, and the amazing outdoor adventures. Khao Yai National Park in Thailand
Khai Yai National Park is an immense jungle area about five hours north of Bangkok. After you get situated in Thailand for a few days in Bangkok, grab a bus or hire a car to take you to Pak Chong. Once you get to the park the trekking and wildlife is amazing. I saw 6 wild elephants, flocks of hornbills, wild dogs, porcupines, monitor lizards, and many more beautiful birds and animals. For a unique experience, camp in the campground. Tent and sleeping bag rentals are available for around $1.00 a night. You will most likely be the only westerner in the campground, and Thai people, known for their friendliness will warmly welcome you.

Singapore is known as a thriving modern metropolis, but did you know they have a huge park great for hiking. You can hike for miles and walk over a canopy walkway over the rainforest and forget you are in one of the biggest and most dense cities in Asia. If you climb the lookout tower, you might even see monkeys. You will also see the city skyline from the lookout. The glimpse of the city from the top is the only hint you are in such a massive urban area. Do not come on a Monday as the canopy walkway is closed as I sadly found out.

This adventure is so fresh on my mind because I just snorkeled the gorgeous coral reefs along the coastline of this offshore island. A boat picked us up in Pemuteran. We cruised towards the island with volcanoes on the island of Java looming in the distance. The boats dropped us off at one end of the reef and picked us up on the other. West Bali was so dry the hills were actually smoldering on fire. The minute you drop your head into the water the dry landscape of the land is forgotten and all you see is aqua blue water and schools of beautiful tropical fish. If you get lucky, you might see a turtle or even a shark.
Trek through Bako National Park in Sarawak, Malaysia
Most people only know the Malaysia situated on the land mass known as the Malay peninsula consisting of parts of Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and all of Singapore. Malaysia also owns two states on the island of Borneo, which it shares with the country of Brunei and Indonesia. On Sarawak is the amazing Bako National Park. The park is probably most well known for its colony of proboscis monkeys, which may be the oddest animal you will ever see. Besides the monkeys, Bako has beautiful trails through the jungle and gorgeous coastline.
Take a boat trip through Halong Bay in Vietnam
Halong Bay is just north of the capital of Hanoi in Vietnam. The bay consists of thousands of limestone islands that just thrust straight out of the sea and are covered with jungle. Boats take visitors through the maize of islands and offer kayaking, cave exploration, and diving. Just being on the boat and soaking in the incredible views is enough for most visitors.
