Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Three scarlet macaws in the Corcovado jungle in Costa Rica

One of the best places to see scarlet macaws is in Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica. Set in the Osa Peninsula, Corcavado National Park is an amazing rainforest with an abundance of wildlife. Scarlet macaws can be seen all over the Osa Peninsula especially at dusk as they fly in pairs to their feeding grounds. The best place to see them is in the almond tree grove in Carate, which lies just outside the park. These three scarlet macaws were captured close to Sirena Ranger Station.
