Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Russian church Nice France

Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Nice, France

If you would have seen this church without the benefit of the title letting you know it is in Nice, France, you would have guessed this picture was taken in Moscow or St. Petersburg. You never know what you might run into when traveling, and on this day we ran into a Russian Orthodox Cathedral while walking the streets of Nice.  This church was given to France thanks to the generosity of the last Tsar, Nicholas II, in 1912. France and Russia at the time were staunch Allies thanks to the growing threat faced by both countries from Germany.

The goal of Traveling Ted is to inspire people to outdoor adventure travel and then provide tips on where and how to go.
