With an influx of people migrating to this desert oasis for over a half-decade, it’s easy to think about the advantages and disadvantages of relocating to Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix is a modern metropolis bordered by a gorgeous desert. This sun-drenched southwestern treasure is rich in cultural heritage and history. Here are a few of the reasons why:

Phoenix, often known as the Valley of the Sun, has a year-round average temperature of 75 degrees due to its scorching summers and mild winters. Most outdoor activities may be enjoyed all year with temperatures like these. While many people in warmer climates yearn for winter, Phoenix residents are relishing the change of seasons — without having to shovel the driveway! A simple road trip can fulfill the wishes of those who wish for a white Christmas it does snow in the desert, after all.

Nature

Phoenix is the perfect blend of natural beauty with urban expansion. This attribute is missing in many urban areas; however, this is not the case in Phoenix. In the midst of Arizona’s Valley of the Sun, this city may be found. The desert, surrounded by towering plateaus, enormous valleys, and more cacti than you ever knew existed, is the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Locals, too, enjoy a plethora of opportunities for exploring the neighboring natural environment. 

Cost of Living

Housing costs are expected to be roughly 5% cheaper, with utilities and groceries coming in at 4% and 5% lower, respectively (respectively). This area will probably not appear to be an economical place to reside when compared to rural areas of the county. Let’s take a look at another Western hotspot: Los Angeles. According to PayScale, the cost of living in Phoenix is 33.8 percent lower than in Los Angeles, with housing costs falling to 58.1 percent lower. The cost of living will be 58.6% lower in comparison to New York. Housing will be 79.7% cheaper in Phoenix. While city living will never be the cheapest option, this Arizona community offers an enticing combination of cost and convenience.

Food/Nightlife

Phoenix’s cuisine scene is one to remember! There are a plethora of fantastic restaurants in the region, ranging from fine dining to international cuisines, as well as dive pubs and food trucks. If you’re seeking for anything new to try, you’ll be hard pressed to run out of possibilities. If you prefer a more laid-back atmosphere, the food at tiny local eateries and street fare is just as wonderful while being a more cost-effective option for your eating needs. Phoenix’s nightlife is also growing. Residents frequently travel to Scottsdale for the evening to get a bite and hit the bars. Many young individuals opt to live in Scottsdale because of its easy access to its nightlife and walkability.

Arts

In this Arizona city, there are plenty of exciting things to do. One is exploring the vibrant art district. Roosevelt Row, located just north of downtown, is a haven for excellent art, shopping, and entertainment. Residents can enjoy the amazing street art that adorns the buildings in this region; moreover, for a minimal fee. Visit the Phoenix Art Museum on North Central Avenue for a more polished cultural experience.
