Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Cinco de Mayo Talavera

Cinco de Mayo talavera piece made in a factory near Puebla

Today is Cinco de Mayo where people celebrate Mexico‘s victory over France in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla. Today is the 151st anniversary of the battle. Last year I was in Puebla in June. We toured a factory that made beautiful talavera ceramics. This beautiful piece was made to commemorate the battle.

The goal of Traveling Ted is to inspire people to outdoor adventure travel and then provide tips on where and how to go.
