There are quite a few Seven Elevens in Chicago, but not nearly the amount found in Bangkok, Thailand. They are omnipotent and found nearly on every corner in the capital and widely distributed around the country. This is perhaps one small reason why Thailand is such an easy country to travel in. Seven Elevens are convenient and the fact that they are easy to find is useful for travelers. There were many times during my time here when I was in need of a battery, toothpaste, and a beer, and it was off to the Seven Eleven.
Here on Khao San Road the convenience factor takes it to a new level. There are two Seven Elevens facing each other across the street. If the line is too long at one, hey no problem, just cross the street. If they are out of double A batteries at one, try across the street.

They’re all over the place in Japan too, and especially useful because they have ATM’s that take foreign cards!

They are definitely handy places. I love that in Thailand there is always one near the bus station. Great place to get snacks and drinks for the bus ride.
