Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Wood storks Everglades National Park Florida

Wood storks at Eco Pond in the Everglades National Park

This photo was taken at Eco Pond at the Flamingo campground at the Everglades National Park in Florida. There is a half mile walk around the pond and there is always something to see. I have seen rails, black-necked stilts, roseate spoonbills, marsh hawks, and an occasional alligator can be found as well. Check out the map below if directions are needed. This is a great day trip from Miami if you don’t have time to spare to explore the Everglades.
