The mighty Mekong River is the 12th longest river in the world. It begins in the Tibetan plateau and flows through China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam before emptying into the South China Sea in Vietnam. The Mekong River tour is an excellent opportunity to check out this beautiful region about an hour away from Ho Chi Minh City. The tour features boat rides through the main channel and then in traditional boats like the one above through the myriad of channels through the many islands.
The tour also treats visitors to traditional Vietnamese music and a visit to a coconut making factory. Tours are easily booked Pham Ngu Lao, which is the backpacker region in Ho Chi Minh City
