Each year during Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago, thousands of participants dress up in garish costumes with feathers, face paint, and other crazy accoutrements. I had a media pass, which allowed me access to the grandstand and to take photos of the tribes as they passed one of the judging points. This is where the beautiful women of Carnival photo essay came from.
The pictures from the grandstand only tell half the story. After watching band after band strut through the judging point, I decided to explore Port of Spain a little bit. Colorful people were everywhere and some of the most interesting shots came from alleyways and dead end streets.
They say the world will pass you by if you sit in one spot. I tried this theory at Carnival and just chilled on railing and took several pictures from the same place. Here are a few pictures from this effort.
