Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Wisconsin River Bald Eagle

Wisconsin River eagle is thankfully becoming a very common sight

Ten or twenty years ago it was a rare sight to see a bald eagle along the Wisconsin River or anywhere in the Midwest. Thanks to Rachel Carson and the end of DDT the have returned in stunning fashion. Now as you canoe the Wisconsin River they seem to be found on every tree overlooking the river. Despite the drastic change from rare to common, one never gets tired of seeing these majestic birds scanning the river for a fish.
