Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Wisconsin pond on a rural road – adventure travel lesson is you never know when you come across a good picture

The camera phone has made it easier to always have a picture taking capacity on hand even when not adventure traveling, but the author has yet to invest in this technology.  Until then I need to remember to always carry a camera with me because sometimes normal periods can suddenly turn interesting.

Wisconsin pond on a rural road

This week I had two experiences where I was not traveling and came across two beautiful opportunities to take a picture.  The first happened Monday when I was playing softball in the city of Chicago.  Our fields are just west of the city and a beautiful full moon came out over the skyline.  Sadly, I did not have a camera, so I can only write about it.

Wisconsin pond on a rural road

I learned from my mistake yesterday.  I was driving down a country road in Wisconsin.  All around me were cornfields and farms.  Suddenly a little oasis appeared on the side of the road.  A tiny pond surrounded by trees and vegetation appeared.  In the pond were hundreds of blooming yellow flowers.  Fortunately, this time I had my camera and pulled over and captured the images above.

Stay tuned,
