The camera phone has made it easier to always have a picture taking capacity on hand even when not adventure traveling, but the author has yet to invest in this technology. Until then I need to remember to always carry a camera with me because sometimes normal periods can suddenly turn interesting.
This week I had two experiences where I was not traveling and came across two beautiful opportunities to take a picture. The first happened Monday when I was playing softball in the city of Chicago. Our fields are just west of the city and a beautiful full moon came out over the skyline. Sadly, I did not have a camera, so I can only write about it.
I learned from my mistake yesterday. I was driving down a country road in Wisconsin. All around me were cornfields and farms. Suddenly a little oasis appeared on the side of the road. A tiny pond surrounded by trees and vegetation appeared. In the pond were hundreds of blooming yellow flowers. Fortunately, this time I had my camera and pulled over and captured the images above.
Stay tuned,

Ted, I am like you. I don’t have a fancy camera phone so I don’t have anything with me. I do have my 7 year old cell phone which does take photos but they are never clear when I use it. I definitely understand what you mean when you say you always need a camera. I may have to start doing this as well.

You and I are both the same. I have a bit of an aversion to new technology even when it would benefit me greatly. Guess I need to do more analysis of myself 🙂

I have old cell phone too, but usually I have small P&S camera with me in case I will see something interesting.

Reminded me that we need to get a cable for our phone camera so we can actually use it.
