The 2011 Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, Illinois is over. All that remains are the lingering campers too overwhelmed the weekend’s activities to travel home and the photographs and memories.
Weathering storms
It sure was an adventure this weekend. The weather, which was not horrible, did dump two rainstorms on the gathering. This turned the already saturated farmlands into a mud pit. It did not dampen the enthusiasm of the music revelers as they emerged from the woods and continued to enjoy the music.
Great mix of music
The yearly festival has a great mix of music although it features jam bands and electronic rock music. There is also a nice array of blue grass, folk, rock, Irish music, and rap, so there truly is a genre for everyone at Summer Camp.
The music is only half the experience, so tomorrow’s photo essay will concentrate on the camping experience. With 10-15 thousand people camping out in close proximity it definitely leads to an interesting time.
