This makes it the tallest mountain in the country. Mount Olympus is home to a vast array of rare plants and animals. The area is teeming with fauna and flora, including many endemic plants and over 100 species of birds – which is likely why it became the first National Forest in 1938.

This expedition offers unparalleled hiking opportunities through emerald forests and quaint whitewashed towns, hidden waterfalls and rocky peaks. Hiking Santorini Island Greece –

Santorini

Santorini is a magical place. The iridescent waters of the Aegean Sea lap against volcanic beaches, and rows of white buildings are etched into the rugged landscape. Hop onto a catamaran for a cruise around the island, where you can relax on the red sands of the lava beaches or go diving to explore the bustling underwater world, teeming with colorful marine life.

Don’t forget to leave time to also explore the active volcano, which is only accessible by boat. Once you’re there, hike the small islets made entirely of black lava and bathe in the therapeutic hot springs. Then head back to the main island for some authentic Greek cuisine. Be sure to try the Tomatokeftedes, an aromatic, fried tomato dish.

The Mediterranean is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, so lace up your hiking boots. Don’t forget to pack your diving gear and get ready to be swept away in the rich history, welcoming culture and natural beauty of Greece.
