I once again and broke down and purchased my set of racing photos from the Chicago Marathon taken by Marathon Foto. I usually don’t buy into these schemes from professional photography companies to separate you from you dollar, but when I was emailed the set, I had to have them.
I also bought a set when I did the cross-country ski marathon in Hayward, Wisconsin. I was appalled the find that each picture in the skiing set featured a large embarrassing snotscicle. I was afraid after running 26.2 miles I might be caught with something worse.
Fortunately, this did not happen. The photos do a good job of progressing through the race. I have some pictures where I look like I am actually competing as I ran a respectable 2:00 13 mile split. Then I have many painful pictures and ones of me walking when I hit the proverbial wall and hobbled in the last ten miles. I finished with a time of 4:54.

Congrats man! You did it. It doesn’t matter how long, what matters is the finishing line and you did it. Kudos.

Thanks Jeff,
I am definitely pleased now that it is over to have just finished it. Next year I will work on a faster time.
Nice work, Ted! Next time, maybe, you’ll realize the easiest path to the donuts is by car. No point in running 26.2 miles for ’em! 😛

I will pass on the donuts and go for the beer 🙂
So did you have your own personal paparazzo?? Hey, run or walk – you finished! (I am tired just looking at you being tired…)

Everybody does at the Chicago Marathon. They have an army of Marathon Foto photographers throughout the course.
Love the captions with all your photos. I can totally see the pain on your face and I think my thoughts would be much along the same line as this – screw it. I’m done – but then you’re not. I think they were worth the money.

I hate ponying up the money for stuff like this as I would rather use my funds for travel, but unless you have a bunch of friends watching the race, it is impossible to get photos of yourself.
That time at the Chicago Marathon when you did so well! Well done Ted! I should have signed up if not to just see ya and run the race with ya:D
