Yellow lady’s slipper orchid in Matthiessen State Park in Illinois
Pretty soon we should be seeing a bunch of wildflowers in our local state parks and outdoor areas like the above yellow lady’s slipper orchid. This one was taken from the forest inside Matthiessen State Park, which is the sister state parks of the more famous Stand Rock State Park in central Illinois. Thanks to the near monsoon conditions last week in Illinois, get ready for a vibrant spring wildflower season.
