One of the most beautiful scenic drives in the Midwest and the country is Highway 61 from Duluth, Minnesota up the north shore of Lake Superior to the Canadian Border. One of the highlights of this stretch is Gooseberry Falls. Gooseberry Falls is a series of beautiful terraced waterfalls along the Gooseberry River as it enters Lake Superior.
This means there is a lot to do and see in Gooseberry Falls State Park. Besides the waterfall, there is also the Lake Superior shoreline, 20 miles of hiking trails, and 12 miles of cross-country ski trails in the winter.
