A name like Wipe Out Hill is sure to scare many away from this hill in the Gunflint cross-country ski trails along the Gunflint Trail. There is a long escarpment that overlooks Gunflint Lake on the Highlands Trail. Wipe Out Hill takes skiers off this escarpment down towards the Gunflint Trail and the lodge.
I have wiped out a few times during my trips up there, but this descent was not one of them. There was over 6 inches of fresh powder and the trails were not groomed, so it slowed things down a bit and made the trip down a little easier. Enjoy the ride!

I got dizzy watching this. Looks like a very fun trail to ski.

The trails here in Minnesota are some of the best in the Midwest and possibly the country. I am sure they pale to some cool places in Canada though.
