This photograph comes from the Gunflint Trail at the Gunflint cross-country ski trail system. Fresh snow slows down the skiing a little bit especially when the trails are not groomed, but skiing on fresh powder is nice. There is something about being the first skis to plow the virgin white snow and the slow going is worth it.

Great pic! Man that snow is deep! You can’t beat fresh powder like that though eh?
Yes sir,
Even though it slows you down a bit, it is great to ski through such pristine conditions.
Currently learning to ski for the first time in my forties. I can appreciate the beauty of this picture… bring on the snow.

That is great John,
I learned to downhill ski my first time when I was forty although I had been cross-country skiing for years. It sounds like you are enjoying it.
