The Big Cypress National Preserve in southern Florida is a gorgeous spot with interesting lush vegetation which is teaming with wildlife. Tucked just north of its more famous brother, the Everglades, the Big Cypress is actually a little more interesting. The Everglades is a vast river of grass stretching for miles. It is a beautiful area, but many overlook the Big Cypress just next door. The Big Cypress features Florida panthers, huge cypress trees, the Florida Trail, and swamps like this with birds like the white ibis and little blue heron pictured above.
