December is the peak of the dry season in the Rupunini Guyana Savanah, so the area is quite parched and brown at this time of the year. The Rupunini is an interesting place to visit with Amerindian villages spread out over miles. There are few towns in the area, but the hubs are Annai and Lethem located along the border with Brazil. The area can be accessed via the Georgetown-Lethem Road or by airplane as there is an airstrip at both Annai and Lethem.

At least you were in Sunny Guyana while US and the rest of Europe were freezing 😛

Yep, and I was happy to be there.
Looks beautiful! Did you wear your fanny pack there?

The fanny pack is always one of the first things I pack. It is like my American Express. It identifies who I am and I don’t leave home without it.
