While staying at our Gunflint Trail Minnesota cabin, I was lucky enough to have the above view out our front porch. What a beautiful scene to look out to while drinking coffee and working on the computer. At one point while typing away I saw something out of the corner of my eye and when looked up it was an enormous owl flying right over the cabin. The frozen lake outside the window is Gull Lake, which is just outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

I guess your training was finished by the time you got up here. Looks like a truly fabulous spot Ted.

Most of the time anything you do the week before the race is not going to help much, but skiing is a little different. Skiing requires muscles that don’t get a lot of use except when skiing. I skied quite a bit up here the week before and just being on skis for the amount of time I was up here helped considerably with my balance.
Looks beautiful Ted! Should come out to Colorado one day…it’s gorgeous!
So many gorgeous places in the world. Colorado and Minnesota are definitely two of them.
