After a couple of days in Georgetown, it was into the deep dark interior of Guyana. Flying over the Guyana rainforests was amazing. Cloud covered the initial view, but eventually the clouds opened up allowing spectacular views of the green carpet below. I flew from the Ogle Airstrip in Georgetown to a little small strip in the middle of the South American Savannah in Annai. Although located in the Savannah, Annai is not far from rainforests I just flew over. The next couple of days will be spent exploring the Guyanese jungle.

Have fun, man! Wish I were there with you. Guyana is so huge and so lightly populated it is truly like the Wild West. I’m looking forward to hearing about your explorations . . . if you stumble across gold digging expedition, an interview with the (presumably) Brazilian workers would be interesting.
Wish you and Russ were here too. I am a little disappointed in the trip as getting around is a challenge and expensive. On the bright side, I have a lot of information to deliver. It is still been a great trip, but it could have been better. The country is great though. Would love to return with my new found knowledge.
GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to hear more.

I have a lot of information to impart. You will be sick of Guyana in no time. 🙂
Looks like deep jungle. Hope you don’t meet up with too many biting insects.

They have not been too bad, although I did get a tick bite. Yikes! It comes with the territory.
Your shortest post ever I do believe. Let us know how the beer taste down there and be careful around that water fall (especially if after you tasted some beer).

Robb,
When I am on the road I like to throw a picture at you just so you don’t forget about me. I actually post photos of the day quite frequently, but I block them from subscribers, so as not to throttle your email too much. Check my homepage under Daily Travel Photo to check them out. Once I am home I will do my more traditional longer posts.
Let us know how the Jungle Beer goes down…
Cheers…
