A week from now I will be on a chair watching the Wisconsin River flow. There is something soothing about watching the current of a river flow on by. Just like watching a campfire glow, the silky current reflecting clouds can keep an adventure traveler‘s attention for hours. A fish may jump or a kingfisher may crash into the water searching for a fish, but these minor interruptions in the flow of the river just add to its beauty.
This picture was take from a sandbar on the Wisconsin River just west of the small town of Blue River on Coumbe Island.

I know this is an old post but I just have to say I agree! I would love to just sit and relax by a river, bring a few snacks and a good book.

Watching a river flow and a campfire are two therapeutic things that I can do for hours. It is amazing when you can do both at the same time.
