Vietnamese workers along the Perfume River
Vietnam is a very interesting country and one of contrasts. In the past couple of decades it it has opened up considerably with the younger generations embracing the west, but it is still a very traditional society. Traveling through Vietnam this is in evidence everywhere as you will see modern buildings and a town and then a few miles later you will see workers with their conical hats tending to their rice fields. This picture was taken along the Perfume River outside of Hué while touring the tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty.

The Perfume River was one of the really cool tours in Vietnam. Besides just general scenery, there are a series of tombs to check out along the way.
That was really lovely. It’s still very nice to be in a place that really shows the nation’s true culture and people!
