Chicago weather in March and April is always really ugly, but this year has to take the cake in the worst springs of all time. To make matters worse May has been just as horrid. It seems like we have one or two nice days and then a cold front rolls through and we are mired in rain and low temperatures for several days.
Adventure travelers can never really rely on the weather until June, but that does not mean the weather has to constantly suck. Here are several pictures from the Nordhouse Dunes along Lake Michigan in Michigan just north of Ludington in order to get us ready for swimming and beaches, which we hope are on the horizon.
Stay tuned,

Thanks for some bright pictures as the weather takes its time getting the change of seasons right.
Thanks Dawn and Mari,
Hope my pictures are the harbinger for warm weather.
Beautiful photos! And agree with you about the weather – it’s the worst (and coldest) May we have had since I have lived here!

Sorry to hear that it has been relatively crappy everywhere, but misery loves company.
What a beautiful spot! I would have guessed this was the Ocean. I’ve got to get to Lake Michigan to see this for myself 🙂

It was fantastic for swimming after a grueling hike.
It does look like the ocean!
