Kentucky gets a bad rap. Parts of it are really beautiful. Red River Gorge looks like one of those parts, and like a place that’s right up my alley! How long of a drive is it from Chicago? I bet it’s gorgeous in the fall, too.

Thanks for the comment Stella. That is unfortunate that they are doing more undercover inside the festival. Most places usually just let concert goers alone unless they are causing trouble.

My mom is in her 70s too. She is still in decent shape, but not as adventurous as she once was.

My mom likes to camp, but she also likes luxury, so I stuck her in a cabin in the woods. It had a hot tub, so she enjoyed it.

I was surprised to find out I was not even in the national park. I would love to go back and explore more of the area.

It was a full day although I can’t claim to be that crazy adventurous as a nap at the Westin pool took place later in the day.

Yep, you don’t have to go halfway across the world to see cool canyons, just to the other side of the country.

The Red River Gorge has all the above plus zip lining, rock climbing, and mountain biking. I would recommend you check it out.
