That hike really does remind me of Mt Tamalpais. Everything is so green there and the scenery is very similar. I love the arch and like that you can walk on it. Great views from the top!

Too bad you didn’t get a chance to explore more trails at Natural Bridge State Resort Park. The pictures you posted of the view from the top of the bridge show a rock formation across the valley. The trail that goes to that rock and the views of Natural Bridge from that rock are gorgeous.

Now THAT sounds like a great way to spend Mother’s Day. I love those old stone bridges. Virginia has some nice ones. We don’t really have those here on the west coast.

Yes, it is nice to have a guide, so you can go straight to your destination instead of hobbling around town with your backpack looking for a place to put it down for the night.
