Skiing Gunflint

Skiing next to Gunflint Lake in Minnesota

One of the best cross-country skiing destinations in the United States is found along the Gunflint Trail in Northern Minnesota. This picture is taken from the trails at Gunflint Lake. They have reliable snow between December and sometimes all the way through April and the trails are amazing. One time skiing I flew around the corner to find a moose in the middle of the trail. I had to crash land to avoid the giant beast, and he took off into the woods. Be careful dodging moose as you enjoy these spectacular trails.
